A philosophy is a brief statement that outlines that particular writer’s personal stances on how they conduct themselves within their field.

My own three philosophies are deeply connected to each other. My tutoring philosophy centers on a mindfulness, which transfers smoothly to my teaching philosophy. My administrative philosophy comes from my role as the Director of the SUNY Adirondack Center for Reading and Writing.

  • Tutoring Philosophy: My tutoring philosophy is, admittedly, an older version, created around 2014. I leave it here to show my students how an academic starts–one philosophy at a time. We evolve, and our ideas change–as they should.
